1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Divvy ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our Service.

2. Description of Service

Divvy is an expense splitting application that allows users to:

• Create groups for managing shared expenses
• Add and track expenses within groups
• Calculate and settle balances between group members
• Invite others to join expense groups

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your account
• Promptly update any changes to your information
• Be responsible for all activities under your account

4. Free and Paid Services

Free Tier

Users can create up to 10 groups for free.

Paid Services

• Extra Group Slot: $3 one-time payment for one additional group
• Unlimited Annual: $49 per year for unlimited groups

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. Prices are subject to change with notice.

5. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
• Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others

6. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the Service are owned by Divvy and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Merchantability
• Fitness for a particular purpose
• Non-infringement
• Accuracy or reliability of information

8. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall Divvy be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from:

• Your use or inability to use the Service
• Any errors or omissions in content
• Loss of data
• Unauthorized access to your information

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Divvy from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

10. Refund Policy

Annual subscriptions may be cancelled at any time. Refunds are provided on a pro-rated basis for unused months. One-time payments for extra group slots are non-refundable.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Divvy operates, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
